When we face family trials and the valleys of physical loss with dignity, we are working on the construction of imperishable dwellings in the Heavenly Homeland.
These are the eternal tabernacles of the soul: abodes of light built with pure affection, fidelity to sacred duties, and the unconditional love that conquers physical death.
It is in this imperishable reality that men and woman, Twin Flames, or old enemies, and the families united by the bonds of the spirit will meet again, under the eternal blessing of God the Father and Creator of the Universe.
12. The Veracity of the Law of Love and Reincarnation (The Gospel According to Spiritism, Chap. XIV)
So that everyone may understand the veracity of the law of love and the progress of the human spirit through reincarnation, we transcribe the teachings from The Gospel According to Spiritism- Allan Kardec's Codification, in Chapter XIV — Honor Your Father and Your Mother:
Filial Piety - Summary
1. The commandment: “Honor your father and your mother” is a corollary of the general law of charity and love for one's neighbor, since one's closest neighbor is one's parents.
2. The meaning of the word honor comprises not only the respect one must have toward them, but also material and moral assistance in case of need, support in old age, patience with their flaws, indulgence for their weaknesses, and the forgetting of all resentment. Anyone who refuses to help their parents in old age or sickness disobeys one of the most sacred laws of nature.
3. But filial piety is not limited to the fulfillment of material duties. It requires the affection of the heart. He who helps his parents out of mere obligation, or who does so while complaining or showing ill will, fulfills only half of his duty. A true child wraps material aid in the sweetness and affection that ease the weight of years and infirmities.
4. Jesus gave the example of this submission and respect toward his earthly parents, showing that spiritual superiority does not exempt one from fulfilling family duties.
5. There are children who believe they can justify their indifference or harshness toward their parents by claiming that the latter failed in their duties as educators or protectors.
This is a grave error. If parents failed, they will answer to God for their faults; but their negligence does not authorize ingratitude from the children.
Charity teaches us to return good for evil, and filial piety imposes the duty to love and succor parents, regardless of what their imperfections may have been.

Receive them, therefore, with love and patience, because your dedication is the medicine for their spiritual wounds, and forgetting the past is the path to common redemption.
